The Noughts and Crosses cowl plays with the juxtaposition of cables and lace, creating a harmonious balance between the two that makes it the perfect spring cowl, or the ideal cover up for summer evenings. With a couple more repeats and the addition of another nought and cross to your repeats it could be converted to be knit in fingering weight or lace weight yarn.

Please note there are few rest rows, but knitting the cowl does become fairly intuitive once you get started.

This cowl comes in two versions, charted only and written instructions. It is easily adaptable with two height options and it can be extended by adding repeats, or you can use the suggested stitch counts for an option of two lengths. The cowl can also be knit flat and buttoned, the beauty of the button version is that depending on the size of the buttons chosen you can use the eyelet holes as button holes, creating several different looks.
