“Nouvelle Fleur, or “New Flower”, is inspired by the intricate, decadent design sense of the Art Nouveau movement. This ’Art of the New’, or ‘Youth Style’ -as it was referred to sometimes - focused on decorative design as a means of artistic communication, and often featured flowing, curvilinear lines and plant-growth forms. I love Art Nouveau style for its contrasts and natural components—soft colors and bold outlines, organic and highly structured images. In keeping with the innovative spirit of Nouveau, this mitten pattern is a Fair Isle pattern worked in 3, not 2 colors…. a little challenging, but well worth it! These mittens are meant to pay homage to the beautiful Tiffany stained glass that was so beloved during this time, and the yarn was specially dyed to imitate the beauty of iridized glass colors.

Color A yardage: 200 yds
Color B yardage: 180 yds
Color C yardage: 180 yds

yardage is approximate and will depend on gauge! I used 3 balls of yarn with 230 yds/ 100 grams/ ball and had plenty left over.

Purchase the entire Fall Knitcircus Collection, including this pattern, for $8.49!
