I named this beautiful shawl after my hometown of Novato in Northern California. The shawl is worked from center back neck down to the edge. The different patterns represent the diversity of nature in this area.
The wonderful lace pattern at the neck area represents the grassy fields, followed by an area of stockinette which represents the Novato creek, and trellis framed leaves pattern represents different native trees such as Redwood, Oak, etc.
The edging represents the beautiful hillsides that change color with the change of seasons.

Working with Cashsilk yarn is a dream come true. It is so wonderfully soft between the fingers.
This pattern is for experienced knitters.
