In the concept album of The Scarlet Pimpernel, there’s a song from before Marguerite knows who the Scarlet Pimpernel is, where she is grieving the fact that her husband seems to have fallen out of love with her. These gloves pay subtle tribute to that song, “Now When the Rain Falls”, while still being good for everyday wear and not overtly fannish. The wrist has a geometric rain motif, while (since it really is the existence of the Pimpernel that’s causing all Marguerite’s problems) the back of the hand has a shadowy beaded pimpernel.
