Nutkin is an easy to memorize pattern with dramatic results. Although the pattern includes many YOs, the sock does not appear lacey. Great for subtle striping yarns, like the one pictured here.

Techniques used:

• knit
• purl
• YO
• following a chart
• knitting in the round on dpn
• decreasing (k2tog, ssk)
• short rows
• 3 needle bind off

Please note that some knitters have had issues with the sock twisting/biasing. There are, however, many examples of Nutkin with very little or no biasing (including my own). View a description of the problem and how to avoid it.
