A simple textured pattern edged with cables adds interest to this classic cardigan and the stand up collar is an unusual and elegant touch. Knit in worsted weight, this cardigan is cozy, comfortable, and stylish.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Bust - 32¼ (36¼, 40¼, 44, 48)(52, 55¾, 59¾, 63¾)“, buttoned.
Intended to be worn with 2-4” of ease.
Length - 23 (23½, 24, 24½, 25)(25½, 26, 26½, 27)”.

YARN: 1040 (1120, 1230, 1370, 1490)(1625, 1745, 1860, 1980) yds worsted weight wool or wool blend.
Shown in Blue Sky Fibers “Woolstok” (100% Fine Highland Wool; 123yds/50g) - 1307 Pressed Grapes.
9 (10, 10, 12, 13)(14, 15, 16, 17) skeins.

NEEDLES: U.S. size 7 (4.5mm) circular or straight needles.
Adjust needle size as needed to obtain correct gauge.

OTHER: Cable needle, stitch holders, stitch markers, removable stitch markers, extra needle in same size for 3-needle bind off, tapestry needle.
Five ¾“ (19mm) buttons.

GAUGE: 20 sts/28 rows = 4” in stockinette, blocked.
22 sts = 4” in 1 x 1 ribbing.
21 sts = 4” in Box, blocked.
8 sts = ⅞“ in Cable, lightly blocked.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. Techniques include cable cast on, cables, German short rows, 3-needle bind off, m1 increases, decreases, and picking up stitches.

CONSTRUCTION: Back and fronts are knit separately from the bottom up. Shoulders are shaped with short rows and joined with 3-needle bind off. Ribbed collar band is knit along with the fronts and increases are paired with decreases to shape the collar. Cable section of stitch pattern is extended and joined at back neck. Stitches are picked up to finish the ribbed collar, which is shaped with short rows to raise the back height. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves and knit flat to the cuffs, with short row shaping for the sleeve caps. Sides and underarms are seamed.
