About

I wanted to make a pattern that would work well with variegated yarns. Most glove patterns out there are better with solids (and I think this one would be fine in a solid as well) but I created this pattern to pair with a variegated, multicolored yarn.

Gauge is 4.5 sts an inch by 7 rows, when working the main glove pattern in the round. Glove measures (with no stretch applied to the knit, taken with glove laid flat) 8.5 inches from top to cuff, hand: 4 inches across, wrist, 3.25 inches with no stretch applied to the k2p2 section (stretches to 4.5 inches) thumb: 1.5 inches across the top. Model has a 6 inch wrist, gloves are big on her. Will fit a 6-8 inch wrist. For larger wrists, please go up to a 5.0mm knitting needle, for smaller, go down to using a 4.0mm knitting needle. Full video tutorial can be seen here.

You will need:

  • 200 yards of worsted weight yarn.

  • Size 4.5mm double pointed knitting needles

  • Scrap piece of yarn for holding thumb sts

  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends.

  • A hand to put the finished item on.
