This cowl combines the understated simplicity of herringbone stitch with contrasting stripes and bias construction for elegance and visual interest.

Slight modifications to the basic stitches make this herringbone pattern almost meditative to work. And despite the seemingly endless amount of stitches and rows, it grows so quickly!

The sample shown is 25 cm wide and measures 130 cm around – just the right size for wrapping around the neck twice. However, the pattern is also easily customizable, if you’d prefer a narrower, wider or one-wrap cowl – or even a scarf! Just change the number of stitches cast on and work the pattern until you’ve reached the desired length.
