This cowl is named “Occhielli” (which means eyelet or buttonhole in Italian) in honor of my adopted Italian grandmother. This beautiful, yet simple eyelet cowl is worked in the round. I’ve provided charted and written directions. This pattern can easily be adapted to any weight yarn. You will just need to cast on stitches in multiples of 2. The burgundy cowl is the DK version.

I’ve also included notes in the pattern on knitting a fingering weight infinity cowl using the same chart/written directions. This version takes only one skein of fingering weight yarn (less than 300yds). The green, grey and purple variegated infinity cowl is an example of the longer, fingering weight version.
