This versatile summer piece can be worn several ways. If the sides are left open, this is a cool, breezy poncho. If sides are sewn up, this becomes an oversized summer top.
Buttons can be added down the sides for more flexibility. Buttoned down the side, this is again an oversized top, or casual cover-up; buttoned “sideways” with front buttoned to front, and back buttoned to back, this becomes a long sleeved shrug.
In place of buttons, you may use fringe-ties instead for a more bohemian look.
The bottom is worked side to side, then stitches are picked up across the top, to work the yoke. Cotton Supreme Batik would be fun to use for the lower portion and a coordinating Cotton Supreme Solid for the top.
Have fun with it!
