Ocean Breeze
Ocean Breeze is a wonderful, crescent shaped shawl that has been designed to be knit in two different yarns of the same colour giving an undulating shawl that is just perfect for a summer cover up for too hot sunshine, cooler evenings, air conditioned restaurants and, of course, the ocean breeze. I have used Lichtfaden Pure Silk Fingering and Lichtfaden Silk Halo (you will need one skein of each) to create a shawl with wonderful contrast in texture. A different effect can be achieved by using different yarns in two different colours. Beaded and textural, this shawl is a fun knit and a lovely accessory for your holiday, weekends or to wear to the office.
Be prepared - beads will be needed right from cast on - you will need around 800 in total. You will also need a 1mm crochet hook or crotat hook to apply your beads, a darning needle to weave your ends in and blocking mats and pins. You will also find it useful to print your pattern on a colour printer.
The pattern is both written and fully charted with bead placement indicated throughout.
If you like my designs please join us in the Boo Group where you will find a place to discuss my patterns, show off your knitting and hear about KALs and MKALs.
Patterns already set up by KnitCompanion can be purchased, in the KnitCompanion Store, for knitters who like to use KnitCompanion, but prefer to have their charts already set up.
