From Knitting and Crochet with Beads The Beads here will knock your socks off! Well, not quite. They will make knockout socks, however. The stacked diagonal lines help hold the sock up, even though the socks look just as good slouched. Notice the mirror-image digonals. Wear the socks on either foot, then switch them around for fun.
