The Odette pullover is my take on the classic everyday pullover. I had been looking for the perfect minimalist pullover for ages, and finally decided to make one myself. The Odette pullover has everything I think a classic pullover needs: a slightly boxy fit with set in sleeves, no bulging seams, long and slim cuffs and a double folded neckband.

The Odette pullover is knitted seamlessly from the top down. It begins with a provisional cast on and the front and back are knitted separately down to the armholes. Then the pieces are joined and the body is knitted in the round. The sleeves are worked seamlessly by picking up stitches around the armholes and shaping the sleeve caps with short rows. Lastly, stitches are picked up from the neck edge and worked in the round. The neckband is then folded double and seamed (the only seam in the pullover!) All techniques are explained in the pattern.

The pullover is knitted using fingering weight yarn held together with a lace weight silk mohair yarn, but you can also use a single strand of DK weight yarn.

If you wish to work a DK weight version, omit all the instructions where it says “hold the yarns together” and follow only the yarn amount requirements for the fingering weight yarn.
