Offbeat cowl is designed for my gradient sets. I wanted a simple pattern to showcase my Gradient sets using two colorways together, something that could show them off equally, something easy to wear and to knit, and that could be an everyday piece, as I truly think gradients go well with everything!

Inspired by the gentle shifts in colors of my gradients, Offbeat is knitted in the round in syncopated brioche.

Like Offbeat, Syncopation is a music terms referring to an unexpected interruption in the rhythm, which creates interest in the listener. When the rhythm remains regular, and is just shifted by a single beat, it creates an Offbeat.

The Offbeat cowl is knitted in the round in two color syncopated brioche, which creates interest in the knitter interrupting the regular brioche rhythm by shifting the pattern of a single stitch, so basically by shifting knits with purls, so maybe we can say it creates an off-stitch?
