OHBOY is a German tragicomedy film about a twentysomething guy in Berlin. It´s one of my favorite movies and its completely in black-and-white. In 2014, the film was released in the US under the title “A Coffee in Berlin”.

It tells the story of Niko, a guy who has dropped out of law school, failed to inform his father of that fact, and yet still accepts the father’s funding for the schooling that no longer exists. The film presents a day or so in the life of Niko, as he careens from one absurd interaction to another, clearly floundering, but still not seeing that it is up to him to create the life he wants.
So maybe if you go for this pattern, go for this stunning German movie too!

The OHBOY hat is a super-quick gift and can be knit in one day, so did I in black-and-white. The style works for boys and girls, men and women, as long as you choose your color combination carefully.

This beanie is a combination of an unicolored brim and crown with two-colored brioche stitch pattern in between. Straight brioche knitting will give you some mindless knitting. I decided to knit a simple but unusual crown. I´m sure, you will enjoy it.

Pattern is written for three circumference small, medium and large to fit the child (8-12 y) and average adult female and male. When applicable, directions for S/ M,L sizes are written in parentheses as follows: S (M,L).
