Oyez (pronounced Oh yez like Oh yes, but with a “z” sound at the end) may be heard at the start of proceedings in courtrooms, but otherwise is now mostly the preserve of elaborately costumed town criers in the more heritage-minded of English towns who wish to call attention to their pronouncements. In a play with words, this design is my quiet way of calling attention to addiction, suicide, and shame, in all shapes and forms.

No one should lose a child, but my dear, sweet friend, Janeo’s son took his own life. Her son, Luke, struggled so deeply within himself. He carried such heavy burdens of #shame #sorrow and #brokenness. He believed too greatly that his past would always overtake him and that an #addict is who he would always be and that people would always see him that way.

I want to shout - please find that last ounce of courage and reach out your hand. Say, I need someone. I need help and to be known. You. Are. Worth. It. The person across the table or on the other end of the line wants to meet you exactly where you are and love you exactly where you are. Love is messy, but it is so so good. #befree

A portion of the net proceeds from this pattern will be donated to raise awareness and give hope for those who suffer from depression and addiction/depression.
