With this very detailed pattern, you can make a super-realistic little owl or pigmy owl or just any owl you like! This .pdf crochet pattern is written in standard American crochet terms.

Size
If you use the recommended yarn, your owl will be 4.3 inch / 11 cm tall.

Materials
For this crochet owl you’ll need worsted weight yarn (Lètt Lopi) and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You also need a D US/3 mm crochet hook for the paws. You’ll need three colours of yarn: light beige heather (0086), murky brown (1420) and a left over of a yellow or mustard colour (9264) for the beak and paws. For the eyes I’ve used 10 mm animal eyes with transparent back which I painted yellow. You also need a little bit of black felt to place behind the eyes and fibrefill and pellets for extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads).

The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal, with instruction images next to the text and example pictures at the bottom to help you get everything right. All my patterns are text edited for correct English and have been tested by experienced crocheters before publishing.

Yarn
Istex Lett lopi. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.

Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
