Oktyabrina is a female Russian personal name that can be translated into English as “born in October”. Also, this name is colloquially known as one of the Aster flower species.
This is a crescent-shaped lace shawl knitted from the center back of the neck down to the border.
SKILL LEVEL: From intermediate to advanced.
Two options are available: Large Crescent (DESIGN A) and Small Crescent (DESIGN B).
The pattern includes charts, both for the large version and for the small one; row-by-row written instructions are not included.

GAUGE is not important for this project. Finished size and yarn consumption will depend on yarn choice, needle size and your individual manner of knitting.
It is strongly recommended to use either natural fiber yarn (linen, cotton, wool, and silk) or yarn with a minimum synthetic content; approx. 600–800 m (656–875 yds) per 100 g.
DESIGN A (Large Crescent)
Yarn used: SIŪLAS Lithuanian Linen 3ply Yarn (100% linen; 600 m (656 yds)/100 g).
The sample has required 1020 m (1115.5 yds) or 170 g of yarn.
Finished Measurements: 180 cm (71 inches) wingspan and 80 cm (31½ inches) deep, relaxed after blocking.
Tools & Notions:
Size 3 mm (US 2 ½) circular needles;
Size 2.0 mm crochet hook for binding off (as also for provisional cast on);
Size 0.5 mm crochet hook for placing beads;
Size 8/0 Preciosa Czech seed beads; 1051 pcs (35 grams) used;

You will also need a few stitch markers, tapestry needle, and a waste yarn.
DESIGN B (Small Crescent)
Yarn used: Aade Lõng Artistic 8/1 Yarn (100% wool; 800 m (875 yds)/100 g).
The sample has required 1080 m (1181 yds) or 135 g of yarn.
Finished Measurements: 160 cm (63 inches) wingspan and 80 cm (31½ inches) deep, relaxed after blocking.
Tools & Notions:
Size 3 mm (US 2 ½) ADDI circular needles;
Size 2.0 mm crochet hook for binding off (as also for provisional cast on);
Size 0.5 mm crochet hook for placing beads;
Size 8/0 Zlatka seed beads; 741 pcs (18 grams) used.
