Olaf’s Folly utilizes two stunning stitches from Estonian Lace, Traveling Vines and Lily of the Valley. This piece’s name comes from a time when one of my cats (Olaf) ate some lilies that my husband had bought me. Being a cat you would think he would know what folly this was because lilies are poisonous to cats! It seems however that he’s not all that clued up and he went ahead and had a taste. A taste that resulted in a 5 night stay at the vet’s and a rather large bill for us. Since then I cannot think of lilies without thinking of Olaf’s Folly.

This piece is knit from one end to the other with the second ending attached via kitchener or a 3 needle bind off. You have a choice of nupps or beads if using beads you’ll need approx 580 of them (based on the number of repeats you knit).

This piece is quite long when knit as recommended and because of the delicate yarn it’s perfect as a wrap but it’s also light enough to be draped around your next like a big loopy scarf.
