This pattern is written for one size only as it is meant to be a loosely constructed top to throw on over whatever you are wearing. It is easily customizable by shortening the number of rows knit on both sides of the neck as well as creating less decreases and increases around the neck front.

Please wet block your gauge swatch. It is important to get the fit and drape you want and to stay within the yarn amount estimate.

Old Cove is near and dear to my heart as I got the inspiration for this ruana during my father in law’s last summer with us. Our family was visiting their home along the south shore of Boston during a particularly hot week. We would sit in their back yard during the late afternoon while he sipped some ice tea and he would explain that he loved this part of the day when a lovely breeze would come from the ocean and cool everything down. As with so many things, he was right! Old Cove is for those summer afternoons and evenings when there is a cool breeze and you want something light weight to wear to keep you comfortable and yet fashionable!
