Whether you are hiking the Old Rag Mountain Loop in the Shenandoah National Park, or running errands around town, this beanie will keep you warm.

It takes almost no time at all to knit. Super-bulky yarn in an acrylic/wool blend, together with large needles and simple styling, make this project a winner. Knit it in the round on circular and double-pointed needles, or use the Magic Loop method. Add a handmade or purchased pompom, and you’re good to go wherever your trails may lead.
