ERRATA 2: the sock as pictured starts with k2p2 cuff, not k1p1 as printed in the directions. Apologies!

ERRATA: There is a discrepancy between the written instructions and the chart for the back of the leg. The chart is correct; the written instructions should read K4 (P1, K5) 4x, P1, K4. Thanks to TinaS1 for catching this mistake!

This top-down sock pattern was my entry for Ravelympics 2010 Designer Dance Event. The central motif is a modification of Filey Pattern IX on page 32 of Gladys Thompson’s Patterns for Jerseys, Guernseys and Arans, Dover Books, 1971. I used one skein of Enchanted Knoll Farm’s Hoofgasm wool/cashmere/nylon (80/10/10) fingering weight yarn in colorway Cleopatra on size 1 (2.25mm) dp needles.

Charts and text for the stitch motifs are included. Cable needle recommended.
