This garter stitch shawl or scarf has an interesting, yet simple, construction that creates a wonderful series of squares or rectangles that are like electricity on the grid. This can be knit in various sizes and weights of yarns to beautiful effect.

This was done in various Noro yarns with long color repeats, but would work well in solids, tonals and hand dyed yarns, too.

The pattern includes a mini tutorial for keeping the squares neat.

Needle used: US 8 or 5.0 mm
Scarf uses 420-500 yards, while shawl requires 880-1100 yards.
