You can say these socks are traditional, but you would never call them boring. These On the Grid socks add just a bit of color and texture to a classic sock look. In addition to the contrasting cuff, heel, and toe, this pattern incorporates a colored purled grid. To avoid the stretchiness problem that often comes up in colorwork, the grid is worked vertically rather than in the round, creating a more wearable, forgiving sock.

These socks are worked from the top down. This six-size design is perfect for both men and women, and, with the right color choice, can be either formal or casual. If you want them for the office, pair a gray background with a black grid. For an outdoor feel, try green and yellow.
