This boot cuff is a quick knit and involves two types of ribbing: 2 x 2 ribbing at the beginning and end, and 3 x 1 ribbing in the middle. The 2 x 2 ribbing gives the cuff enough elasticity to slide on and still grip the leg.

The finished cuff is a bit thick using the medium weight yarn, lighter weight yarns could be used but be sure to adjust the number of stitches and the needle size accordingly. Stitches could be adjusted by adding or subtracting multiples of 4.

You may also want to begin and end the pattern with a needle size smaller than what you use in the middle for a tighter “grip”.
