The fun part of this project is the needle felting (designed by Ryan Anderson), which uses up bits and pieces of leftover wool. The knitting part is “mindless,” the decorating part is creative. The best of both worlds.”

Measurements: 3” (7.5 cm) wide and 3.25” (8.5 cm) tall, felted (Note: Exact finished measurements will be determined by the yarn and the point at which you stop felting.)

Yarn: JCA Reynolds Lopi, 100% Icelandic wool, 3.5 oz (100 g)/110 yd (100 m) (Note: One skein will make two sets of five coasters.)

Needles: US 10 or 10.5 (6-6.5 mm) straight needles or size you need to obtain correct gauge

Gauge: 13-24 stitches = 4” (10 cm) in garter stitch

Other Supplies: Needle Felting starter kit and scraps of wool yarn, optional
