This is a crochet pattern for two adorable baby sweaters. You get one pattern for a baby boy sweater and one for a baby girl sweater. The finished sweaters fit newborns to 3 months. The patterns are easy and workup quickly. They use a few basic stitches. If you can work a single crochet and a double crochet, you can easily make either one of these sweaters. If you are expecting a new little one in the family soon and don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl, you can make one of each sweater!

Baby Boy Sweater:

This adorable baby boy sweater has a single crochet yoke, an X-stitch bodice that is trimmed with a single crochet at the bottom. The sleeves are done in rounds of X-stitches to match the bodice and trimmed with 3 rounds of single crochet. To make this pattern you will need a size E (3.5 mm) crochet hook, worsted weight yarn, and 4 buttons. The pattern instructions are written clearly and include special instructions about how to make an x-stitch - which is really just 2 crossed double crochets.

Baby Girl Sweater:

This adorable baby girl sweater has a single crochet yoke, and an alternating V stitch and shell stitch for the skirt, and uses a V Stitch for the sleeves. The combination of these stitches produces an adorable girly sweater for your baby! To make this pattern you will need a size D (3.25 mm) crochet hook, worsted weight yarn and 2 buttons. The pattern instructions are written clearly and include special instructions about how to make an V stitch and a shell stitch.
