I wanted to have a small bag for either knitting or crochet projects, or for shopping. This bag is wonderful for either of those jobs and I know there will be many more uses for it. A lunch bag, toy bag, library bag etc.

I haven’t lined mine, because I like it to hold my projects and then wrap tightly to go into a larger tote bag. That way, my yarn stays clean while it is with everything else that I am carrying with me that day.

The larger needles are used on the bag’s sides and the smaller are used for the handles and ribbing on the top.

Materials 4.4 oz. worsted weight cotton yarn. The pink bag used 3.8 oz. - almost 2- 2.5oz (70.9gm) balls of Sugar ’n Cream cotton yarn from Lily. The blue/white/tan bag used 3.8 oz of leftover worsted weight cotton from my stash.

Needles: Size 10 US (5.75 mm) 16 inch circular, size 8 US (5 mm) 16 inch circular, and an extra circular (any length) or double point needle size 8 US (5mm) or sizes needed to obtain gauge.

Notions: 3 Stitch holders, 4 stitch markers, row counter, tapestry needle.

Gauge 19 sts and 19 rows = 4 inches in bag’s side pattern.

Finished Size Laying flat: 13 inches across x 11 inches top to bottom.

Notes The bottom of the bag is worked back and forth in rows, and then the bag is knitted in the round up to the handles. No seaming is needed when done.
