Inspired by the face-framing collars worn by Elizabethans, this scarf has two narrow lengths at each end which can be tied or doubled around the feminine neck piece, the centre of which is worked in an easy lace pattern with ruffled short row edges.

note: the price on South Seas Knitting ($8) is in New Zealand dollars which converts to approximately $4.90 US depending on the exchange rate at the time of purchase.

NOTE: Just to clarify, since one of the reviewers here has said that she didn’t know where to start the pattern. It is actually straightforward, where the pattern tells you to cast on for the “Scarf”.
The whole piece is knit in one, no sewing required. You start with the long scarf, then work the Ruff, then the second long scarf.I do not recommend making the scarf section shorter, since that would give less flexibility in the way it’s worn.
Happy knitting!
