Carol Wessinger is a master of practical construction. She builds a skirt in panels containing four sections; shapes it with 5 short-row gores, and tops it off with a cabled and shaped yoke. But that’s just the beginning. There are two other options. You can begin with a center diamond insert for even more flair at the hem, or go for the third option and add the drapes.

This project seems ambitious, but is quite straightforward. Get started and see how quickly you become a fan of knitting an investment piece with lots of character.
