Onew is a reversible bucket hat with a double-knit argyle pattern. Knit from the top down and in the round, the brim of the hat is finished with a sewn bind off.

This hat is somewhat modular, but it is completed in one piece by utilizing picking up and knitting stitches around bound off pieces to create shape and structure where seams would usually be in a sewn bucket hat.

It’s the best of both worlds: the shape and structure of seams, but the convenience of in-the-round knitting!

The argyle colorwork is worked with double knitting colorwork. Because both strands are carried across the round, there’s no need to worry about floats or tension issues, even in large colorwork sections.

There are two sizes to fit head circumferences from 19 inches to 24 inches.

Note:
this project requires having 3 separate circular needles for picking up and holding stitches at certain points. Having the needles be the same size is ideal, but if they’re close to the same size that’s fine too!
If you have interchangeable needles, you will only need 2 additional cords and 2 additional needle tips in the same size and you can put cable caps on the unused end of the cable.
The cast on for this project also uses a 3.75 mm / size F (or close enough size) crochet hook.
