Warm mittens guaranteed to thaw your frozen hands, with a motif cute enough to thaw your frozen heart! These traditional Norwegian-style mittens feature a selbu pattern inspired by Elsa’s bedroom door in the Disney movie Frozen. Worked in a luscious blend of baby alpaca, cashmere, and silk, they are perfect for keeping your hands cozy warm whenever you want to build a snowman (it doesn’t have to be a snowman)!

Size: Women’s medium (approximately 8” circumference)

Gauge: 32 sts and 40 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette st

Yarn: Tipsy Sheep Yarn’s Girls’ Night Out (437 yd / 100g) in Mary Sue (MC) and Snow Queen (CC). One ball of each should be sufficient to make 2 pairs of mittens. Any other fingering weight yarn may be used, but I recommend using a solid color for your MC and a variegated color for your CC. Two strands of scrap yarn, approximately 10” long, are also needed to hold the thumb sts.

Needles: One set of five DPNs in US 2 (2.75), or size needed to obtain gauge. Can be worked using the Magic Loop method or 2 circulars at once – just work the instructions for Needles 1 and 2 together and Needles 3 and 4 together.
