Inspired by a request from a home insurance agent who gets asked to take off her shoes at the door: in the summer, she wants to protect her feet, and in the winter she wants to protect her hosiery.

Keep a pair in your bag for visiting friends who like to keep their carpets clean. Also great as travel slippers, and a terrific way to use up leftover sock yarn.

Toe-up construction.

The strap represents a significant improvement on many slipper patterns out there: the placement at the back of the heel keeps the sock from slipping off.
