Sister pattern to Impervious

This pattern is no longer available for sale.

Please note: Impervious is a simpler pattern. It contains primarily written instructions, with 6 small charts. Conflagration is 100% with no written instructions.

Current version: 4

Optical Delusion: Conflagration is intended to be knit using colourways with 7-13 cm/3-5 inch lengths of colour. These colourways tend to pool in awkward and unusual ways. The combination of garter stitch and short rows push and pull the colours through the scarf to create random, flame-like patterns.

Updates to pattern in version 3 and onwards:

  • stitch counts added to the charts
  • RS and WS rows in alternating colours to help keep track of where you are
  • slight tweaking of row positions to make the charts easier to understand
