Amaze your eyes! Double layer scarf, with optical illusion on one side, and stripes on the other. The design only looks complicated – pattern includes easy instructions to create the optical illusion. Scarf is worked sideways. The two sides are knitted as one piece and folded - not created through double-knitting.

A new version has been posted on 10-10-11. I revised the wording on color work. Here is the change, if you have an earlier version of the pattern:
Reminders for color work:
Your unused yarn will be carried across the back of the work, “floating” across the wrong side of your knitting. Maintain good float tension – too loose will create holes, too tight will pucker.
When you change colors in a round, always bring in your new color over the top of your old color.
Keep all floats to 3 stitches or fewer. When you’re doing the 4 stitch blocks, knit 3 stitches, wrap your floating yarn over your working yarn, and then knit the last stitch. In the 5 stitch blocks, knit 3 stitches, wrap your floating yarn over your working yarn, and then knit the last 2 stitches.
Stop in the middle of each row to untwist your colors, or untwist as needed.
