A simple ribbed scarf in Noro Kureyon with lace ends which are joined on as you go – no seams. The pattern includes optional crochet flowers to sew onto the scarf. Note: substitute aran- or worsted-weight yarns will work well, but may produce finished measurements different from the above.

Requirements for rib and lace sections

  • Yarn: 222g or 447m/489yd Noro Kureyon (aran weight). This allows for 200g or 404m/442yd for rib section, and 22g or 43m/47yd for lace section.
  • Needles (for rib): metric 8mm; UK and Canadian size 0; US size 11
  • Needles (for lace): metric 6.5mm; UK and Canadian size 3; US size 10.5
  • Row Counter

Requirements for optional crochet flowers

  • Yarn: Less than 5yd of yarn similar to MC yarn.
  • Hook: 5mm
  • Decoration: 6 buttons or beads for the centres of the flowers. 3/8in/1cm buttons are suggested, but the choice is yours.
  • Sewing thread and sewing needle: for attaching flowers and buttons/beads.

Drape
The gauge is not important, but drape is. Instructions are given for obtaining a nice, drapey scarf.

Pattern
This is a fully-written pattern, with an additional chart for the lace.

Pictures
The multicoloured sample shown here is in Noro Kureyon. The plain red sample is in Rowan Calmer (discontinued yarn), included to show how it would look in a single-colour substitute yarn. If you are viewing this because you have Rowan Calmer in your stash, the pattern includes yarn requirements, st nos, ndl sizes etc. so you can adjust for that yarn.
