Origami Kimono and Bloomers (Kimono)

January 2006
Worsted (9 wpi) ?
20 stitches and 36 rows = 4 inches
in garter stitch on smaller needles
US 7 - 4.5 mm
US 9 - 5.5 mm
4.5 mm
267 - 445 yards (244 - 407 m)
3-6 months (6-12 months, 12-18 months)

A side-to-side garment, worked in one piece from cuff-to-cuff. Garter stitch worked sideways creates an easy-to-knit vertical ridge that drapes gracefully over the sholders. With only increaseing, decreaseing, cast-on and cast-off, the construction is minimal. Maximum wearing time is factored into the design, which works both over-sized at first and cropped and fitted later.

24” long circular Size 7
Straight needle SIZE 9
Crochet hook Size 7 (4.5mm)

2 stitch holders

Note - it is very important to mark and keep track of all right sides for all pieces.
