A challenging beret with a rolled brim. This is a great project for advanced beginners that want to try a small size cabled project.

For this beret, you will need:
US Size 6 - 16” Circular Needle
US Size 8 - 16” Circular Needle
US Size 8 Double Pointed Needles
Cable Needle
Markers
Darning Needle

Additional Notes 9/4/2010:

I love reading the feedback about what you have experienced with the pattern.

I use a Susan Bates Open End Cable Needle. With this type of cable needle, i can drop it without fear that the stitches will slide and fall off. I have tried and own practically all cable needles on the market and I always come back to using this one.

I also use Crystal Palace Bamboo Circular Needles. These needles give a little hold while working with wool, and it is my choice for cabling. I do notice that when I use bamboo vs. metal my knitting comes out a little tighter. It is important to knit this beret in a relaxed manner, if you think you may knit on the tighter side, do not hesitate to move up a size in needles.
