Out of This World is a celestial-inspired wrap inspired by space and the phenomenon of the solar eclipse. This imaginative design begins by creating a small, knitted orb, symbolizing the birth of a cosmic entity. As the pattern transitions to flat knitting, the wrap begins to increase in size, mirroring the expansion of the universe.

A collection of yarnovers begin to appear, representing the celestial bodies scattered across the galaxy. Their frequency intensifies, drawing us deeper into the vastness of space until finally, an i-cord bind off brings this cosmic creation to completion.

Finally, the orb passes through a cleverly placed “black hole” buttonhole, securing the wrap around the neck. Out of This World embodies the enchanting beauty and mystery of outer space.

This project begins in the round and then continues flat using the following techniques:

Working flat and in the round
Knitting and purling
Increasing and decreasing
Random yarn overs
Applied I-cord
Simple finishing

The pattern includes a tutorial video demonstrating how to close up the moon and transition from working in the round to working flat
