If you’re a fan of the Starz Outlander series then this is the pattern for you. It’s my interpretation of the boot toppers that the men from Clan MacKenzie wear in the first season. I did NOT design an entire sock - just a boot cuff to look nice peaking out from the top of your boots (or wellies.) Wear them either folded over the top of your boot, or straight up to the knee.

I selected yarn that was readily available in the United States - Lion Brand Fishermen’s Wool (brown heather).

PLEASE NOTE: The Lion Brand Fishermen’s Wool is described as both Aran and Worsted weight yarn. This is very important to know as it will affect your gauge. I found the Fishermen’s Wool to be lighter weight than the worsted which was a little confusing to me. Please be sure to check your gauge.

This pattern employs the following knitting techniques: K3, P3 ribbing; K2tog, knitting in the round.

I hope you enjoy knitting my Outlander recreations as much as I enjoy creating them.
