You need two skeins of any Brown Sheep bulky yarn and one ball of Rowan’s Pure Wool Worsted. And yes, 36 needles. We recommend Basix wood needles by Knitters Pride.

This cowl is a bit different from other Outlander cowls because the final 1/3 of the project is knit narrower than the first 2/3. This decreases the bulk when you double wrap the cowl and allows for a more comfortable fit.
