Inspired by the beloved book and television series, the Outlander Shawl features a lovely motif of coupled cables and mirrored lace, representing the twists and turns of love over time. Garter stitch fills in the rest of the shawl, allowing for a hand-dyed variegated fingering weight yarn to shine.

Regarding construction, The Outlander Shawl is not your typical triangular shawl. An ornate cable and lace motif is repeated along the right edge while gradual increases on either side of the garter section keep the shawl growing. The end result is a symmetrical shawl knit from one side to the other.

Yarn support was kindly provided by Apple Tree Knits

The Outlander Shawl was commissioned by the Yarnover Truck for their 2018 Yarn Club.
