The alternating stitch patterns and colors in this fun, quick to knit unisex cowl are meant to evoke the striations of the mineral layers in the hills of the Painted Desert. The Owl Rock layer is a member of the Chinle Formation, which gaves its name to my Chinle Cowl pattern, of which this is a variation.

The Chevron Welt Fantastic biases the fabric to let the other seed stitch layers ripple.
