Owls are everywhere! This little hat, designed for babies to toddlers, features a rolled brim, a purl ridge “branch” and a chubby owl cable on a background of stockinette.

Use a soft, chunky weight yarn that is on the heavier side to give you a gauge of 3sts /inch (12sts/10cm.) Plymouth Encore Chunky & Cascade 128 are both good candidates for this.

Additionally, you may opt to use a worsted weight, held double, to get the desired gauge. Plan on about 160 - 220 yds worsted weight for this.

Update: There is an error on line 10 of the owl pattern…the correct line should end with “to 5 sts before marker, p2tog, k3…“
Thank you, Lynn!
