A warm, chunky, owl poncho to wrap up in for that walk by the sea. Moss stitch (USA seed stitch) edges, garter stitch body and owls all come together for a cosy and fashionable knit.

The pattern is intermediate, as you will need to know how to cast/bind on and off, knit and purl stitches and very simple cabling.
Instructions are in English with British/American terms. On the LoveCrafts website, a French pattern follows the English one - on Etsy, it’s just the English one. There is also a very simple schematic to help you visualise the finished poncho piece.

It’s knit flat and sewn together. 100% wool has been used in the photos, but any chunky/bulky yarn should be okay, as you can get away with slight variations in size and texture on a poncho.

This is great for a cover up during the spring or autumn, or on a cooler summer’s eve round the fire. And of course it’s just right for that walk by the sea!
