Remember the bonnets our grandmother’s use to wear? Or how about Paddington Bears hat? This hat was inspired by these childhood memories. The super bulky yarn made this a very fast project and if you’re a very fast knitter, this is a day project. The brim on this hat can be rolled up for a very stylish look, or brought all the way down to provide warmth on those cold winter days.

This pattern is a “floppy” style hat and can be altered to fit your personality by decreasing the brim rows and the top so that it is not as “deep”.

Yarn:
2 skeins of Lion Brand Thick &Quick Yarn or any bulky weight yarn to match gauge

Materials:
• US 11 (8mm) 16” circular knitting
needle
• 1 set of size US 11 (8 mm) double
pointed needles
• Large cable needle or use an extra DPN
(which I suggest)
• Tapestry needle

Gauge:
9 sts x 12 rows = 4” x 4” square in stockinette
