The crescent shaped shawl is worked in one piece, starting with a leaf stem and ending with a leaf point. It consists of 2 portions, stokinette and leaf lace edging. The stockinette stitch portion gradually increases to the centre, and then decreases. The size of the shawl is easily modified by working extra repeats, allowing the knitter to use up every bit of a special skein of yanr or handspun.
There is some patterning on the wrong side rows, but only for the edging. There are no short rows, grafting, long cast-ons or bindoffs, making this an easy relaxing knit for that special (but limited) skein of luxury yarn or handspun.
