Painterly Plaid is a quick and easy scarf that uses the color pooling technique to create a surreal plaid using a magic number of stitches that has already been figured out specifically for you using only one skein of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted Yarn (225 yards) in the variegated shade of Devon. It is worked on the bias exclusively in garter stitch. Simply cast on the appropriate amount of stitches after matching the gauge, and you will have a beautiful, eye-catching scarf within a couple of hours! No blocking was necessary, and my scarf worked up to be 5 foot 9 inches in length, and 5 ½ inches in width. Before casting on your stitches, a simple yarn over border is knit on one end of the scarf. Written instructions, tips, plus a chart of the border are included in the pattern.
