Dive into your sock yarn stash and knit these painterly socks. One main color in garter stitch frames the contrast color pops with a simple slip stitch technique. The contrast colors are perfect for using leftover sock yarns and mini skeins. This pattern is knit top-down, so you can easily customize the length of the leg and foot while you knit. Be brave and have fun customizing the color story for your own unique pair of Painting Bricks Socks!

Sizes
1 (2, 3, 4, 5)

Size 4 shown on a US 13 / EU 47 size foot with an actual foot circumference of 10″ / 25cm.

Finished Measurements
5 (6, 7, 8.5, 10)″ / 13.5 (16, 18, 22, 25)cm ankle circumference, 5.5 (7, 8, 10, 11)″ / 14 (18, 20, 25, 28)cm foot circumference.

Measurements taken after blocking.

Socks are designed to fit an actual foot circumference of 6 (8, 9, 11, 12)″ / 15 (20, 23, 28, 30)cm. The socks are designed to fit with negative ease. Choose a size with a finished foot circumference measurement that is approximately 1″ / 2.5cm smaller than your actual foot circumference, so that the sock will fit nice and snug on your foot.

The lengths of the cuff, ankle, and foot are easily customizable by knitting more brick stripes for a longer ankle and foot or fewer brick stripes for a shorter ankle and foot.
