Pajukko on pipo yksinkertaisella joustinneulepinnalla ja kauniilla lehtipitsikuvioisella taitetulla reunalla. Se neulotaan pehmeästä yksisäikeisestä merinolangasta, mutta voit halutessasi toki korvata langan jollain toisella fingering-vahvuisella langalla. Ohjeessa on kolme kokoa (1/2/3), jotka on suunniteltu noin 46/53/60 cm päänympäryksille. Huomaathan, että pipon ympärysmitta on jonkin verran pienempi, jotta siitä tulisi hyvin istuva. Valitse koko, joka on lähinnä päänympärystäsi. Pipon kokonaiskorkeus on 31/35/39 cm, mutta noin 8 cm alareunasta taitetaan kaksinkerroin. Ohjekuvien pipo on kokoa 2 ja se on 54-senttisessä päässä.

Tarvitset

• 180/230/310 m yksisäikeistä merinolankaa (noin 366 m/100 g). Suosittelen valitsemaan yksivärisen langan, tai langan, jossa on vain vähän värivaihtelua, jotta pitsikuvio tulee kunnolla näkyviin. Ohjekuvien pipossa käytetty: Rainbowool Merino Singles sävyssä Vihreä Omena.
• 3,0 mm pyöröpuikot, tai sen kokoiset puikot, joilla saavutat ohjetiheyden 27 s/10 cm neuloessasi ohjeen Lehtipitsikuviota. Kerrostiheys ei tässä neuleessa ole yhtä merkityksellinen kuin silmukkatiheys, koska korkeuteen liittyvät mitat ja ohjeet on annettu sentteinä.

Pajukko (willow thicket in Finnish) is a beanie with an easy ribbed pattern and it has a folded rim with a delicate leaf-like lace detail. It is knitted with soft single ply merino but you can of course substitute the yarn with some other fingering weight yarn. There are 3 sizes available (1/2/3) and the sizes are designed to fit about 18/21/23.5 in (46/53/60 cm) head circumferenceS (but please do note that the circumference of the finished beanie will be a bit smaller than that in order it to fit better). Choose the size closest to your head circumference. The total height of the beanie is 12/14/15.5 in (31/35/39 cm) but about 3 in (8 cm) of the rim will be folded double. The headwear in pattern pictures is size 2 on the 21.3 in (54 cm) circumference head.

You’ll need

• 200/255/340 yd (180/230/310 m) single ply fingering weight yarn (about 400 yd or 366 meters per 3.5 oz or 100 g). I would recommend choosing solid, semisolid or tonal yarn with not very much color variation for the pattern to really show. Used in the pattern pictures: Rainbowool Merino Singles in colorway Vihreä omena.
• Size 2.5 (3 mm) circular knitting needles or the size needles you reach the right gauge of 27 st per 4 in (10 cm) with (pattern for gauge: Leaf lace chart). Note that the row gauge is not very important with this pattern as the measurements are given in inches/centimeters.
